Dunn, Pierre, Barnett and Company (DPBA), a human resource development, labour market assessment and training company,  was established to assist global corporations and organizations in meeting the challenges of today’s complex business and training environments towards social inclusion, economic growth and development. DPBA offers innovative, customized consultancy services to small, medium and large organizations and operates across all industries and sub-sectors.

DPBA utilises a consulting-led, integrated portfolio of services which combines insight and innovation from multiple disciplines with business knowledge and industry expertise to help clients exceed their expectations. Education and Training

In the area of Education and Training the company offers consultancy services to Ministries of Education, Youth and Labour, technical and vocational educational and training (TVET) institutions, TVET Focal points and other training providers. The company is experienced in handling a wide variety of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) consultancy assignments using the Competency-based Education and Training (CBET) approach, including development of national qualifications and assessment frameworks, quality management, CBET instructor and assessor training, programme and curriculum development, implementation and evaluation, all tailored to the specific requirements of the individual client.

In providing these services the company utilizes cutting edge technologies and research and evaluation methodologies, to solve immediate and emerging training needs in response to labour market demands.

 

Human Resource Development

In the area of Human Resource Development the company provides organizations and businesses with a wide variety of human resource services including training and gender sensitive workforce development, performance management (using performance management indicators – PMIs as a measurement tool), organizational development, policy and procedures development and related research. Using a structured approach to developing creative human potential, the company helps businesses make the most of their human capital. These consulting services can be provided on-site or off-site or a combination that best suits the client’s needs.

Capacity Building and Institutional Strengthening

Through the expertise of directors and the network of associates, the company has the ability to build capacity and strengthen institutions which enable them to deliver better quality services in a more cost effective manner.  DPBA has the competence to assess the strengths and weaknesses of companies along multiple dimensions of management including strategic direction, organizational structure, planning, monitoring and evaluation. Using the results from institutional assessments, the company is able to build capacity through a variety of means including education and training reform programmes, strategic and long-term planning, financial management, policy dialogue and transition to implementation.

Expert Management by Experienced Professionals:

The management of DPBA consists of a Board of Advisors. The company draws on the diversity of its directors’ and associates’ experiences and expertise to achieve innovative and creative solutions to the needs of its customers.  The CEO and Principals have provided over 60 combined years of expertise in workforce development, competency-based education and training, curriculum design and development, design and development of national qualifications framework, technical and vocational education and training (TVET), information communications technologies (ICT) in TVET, labour market needs assessment and migraton studies at national, regional (Caribbean) and international levels.  They have worked on several human resource development and education and training projects throughout the Caribbean for regional and international funding agencies, National Training Authorities (NTAs) Ministries of Education and Governments of countries.

The Training Arm

The company’s affiliate, Caribbean Career and Professional Development Institute (CARPDI) is the training arm of Dunn, Pierre, Barnett & Co. Ltd. The Institute prides itself on offering a unique methodology to training, the competency-based approach, which takes into account international standards and best practices enabling individuals to demonstrate current, real-world procedures and techniques relevant and applicable to their occupations, geared towards improving their performance on the job.
